　大正薬品工業株式会社は、1959年(昭和34年)2月に設立しましたジェネリック医薬品専業メーカーで、ルーツである大正7年創業の大正堂から数えますと90年以上の社歴を有しております。この間、医療用医薬品の開発、製造及び販売を通じ社会に貢献して参りました。2009年12月には、興和テバ株式会社と資本・業務提携を実現し、新しいビジネスモデルの構築を通じて日本のジェネリック医薬品市場での新たな貢献をさせて頂く所存です。その実現に向け、2010年7月に営業部門を興和テバ株式会社に統合、一本化し、同社全国6支店、19営業所、MR150名体制で250品目を超えるより質の高いジェネリック医薬品をより多くの患者様に、提供させていただくことが可能となりました。さらに、2010年11月には研究開発部門の統合を行ない研究開発力の一層の向上を通じ、更なる連携強化に努めてまいりますとともに、これまで蓄積して参りましたノウハウを活用して、医療現場で使用しやすい、患者様が服用しやすい、特徴ある製品開発の開発体制を確立いたしております。

また、製造部門では2010年に甲賀市水口町に新たな工場を取得し、現在最新鋭の製造設備導入を進めており、また医薬品業界等での経験豊富な人材採用により技術力向上に努め、生産体制強化を図っております。
　生活習慣の変化により、ジェネリック医薬品の需要が高まる状況の中で、政府の掲げる2012年までに数量ベースで30％にするという目標に向かって更なる貢献できることを確信し、信頼されるメーカーとしてその使命を果たすためにも、品質確保、安定供給、情報提供に努めて参る所存でございます。そして、当社が所在する滋賀県が生んだ近江商人の商法である「三方よし」(売り手よし、買い手よし、世間よし)の精神を大切にこれからも歩み続けたいと考えております。

Taisho Pharmaceutical Industries, Ltd. is a pure-play generic manufacturer established in February 1959 with more than 90 years of experience since our origin Taishodo started its operation in 1918. Throughout those years, we have been making contributions to the society by developing, manufacturing and marketing ethical pharmaceuticals. Realizing a capital and business alliance with Teva-KOWA Pharma Co., Ltd., as well as building a new business model, we are intending to make new contributions in the Japanese generic market. For that purpose, our sales department was integrated into Teva-KOWA Pharma in July 2010 and the new department has 150 Sales Representatives at 6 Branches and 19 Sales Offices. That integration enabled us to provide a greater number of patients with higher-quality generic drugs of more than 250 product items. In November 2010, our research and development (R&D) department was integrated into Teva-KOWA Pharma. Through a further improvement of research and development capabilities realized by the integration, we are seeking to further strengthen the alliance while we are establishing a distinguished R&D process for products which are usable at medical institutions and easy to take for patients by utilizing our know-how which we have been accumulated over the years. Meanwhile, we are enhancing our production capabilities by acquiring a new plant located in Minakuchi-cho, Koka City in 2010, installing state-of-the-art equipment in our plants, and recruiting new employees who are vastly-experienced in pharmaceutical or other industries.
Today, demands for generic drugs are growing due to changes in people’s lifestyles. In such situation, the Japanese government set a target for generic drugs to achieve 30% among all ethical drugs in volume by 2012 and we are confident that our company will make further contributions in efforts to achieve that target. Also, in order to fulfill our mission as a trusted manufacturer, we determined to endeavor to ensure the quality, stable supply and information offering. Lastly, Taisho Pharmaceutical Industries is located in Shiga Prefecture, which was used to be called “Ohmi” until about 100 years ago and famous of Ohmi Merchants, who developed and embraced an unique spirit: for the three parties - sellers, buyers and the community. As the Ohmi Merchants did, we will continuously value that spirit in the business operation.
